Well then, the Road Commission of Oakland County is to blame for this one. Back when the roundabout was installed, they removed crosswalks. Crosswalks which were the only way some people had to cross, considering in that area you can't just go down a few blocks and cross somewhere else. The RCOC was sued for violating the Americans with Disabilities act and ordered by a judge to fix their 'mistake'. That project is to install crossing signals that will ONLY stop traffic when someone pushes the button and will cost the RCOC $600,000.
The $1.5 million is for a multi-road maintenance project that is completely unrelated to the crosswalk issue. If you're from the area I'm sure you know how badly the maintenance project is needed! haha
